Just got back from Lake Havasu. Rode through Palm Springs, it was raining and windy. Bike was moving around pretty good. My thought is respect Mother Nature, but don't let her win. If you are a new rider, first take a safety course, start to build your skills, then think about wind.

It really depends a lot on the direction of the wind. Strong side winds can be a bear, but a steady tail wind is (of course) not bad at all. I'd say that a good rule of thumb would be 40 mph winds. Anything more than that coming from the side can be pretty dangerous, IMO

I'm afraid I have to agree...High winds, heavy rain, any kind of adverse conditions may not call for a good day of riding. You will know, when it's time to head home. When it isn't fun anymore and your concentrating on staying upright more than enjoying the ride... get'cher butt home!

Well Friday i did 125 miles for break in on my new Ultra and the weather man said winds were gusting to 31 mph.

It wasnt bad at all and felt rather solid on the road.

I agree with a severalothers, if you're not all that comfortable yet in general the wind just gives you too much more to deal with. The last thing you need on a twisty is to be blown into a head on going around a corner while you're worring about handling the corner in the first place. Once you get some time, 25 isnot a big deal.
