Octane Booster ?
Thats correct unless you use the real lead they used 40yrs ago in non leaded premium fuel to raise octane, its called real lead130 .
its pricey but still $2.50-$3 cheaper per gal then = octane race fuel .
Heres the link to it,can mix to over an honest 100 octane lvl, been using it in the BBC/big block chevy in my 69 chevelle ss 396 for the past 25+ yrs with great results, have owned the car since 1978.
EFI/02 sensors & or Cat Converter may not like thew real lead booster long term so before trying with booster try this since you run same crappy pump fuel i do also living in NYS.
1x-2xyrly run a good dose(1.5 oz per gal) of chevron " TECHRON INJECTOR /CARB/COMBUSTION CHAMBER CLEANER (In their " CONCENTRATED VERSION" stated on front label) thru a tank of fuel while cruising on open road at higher speed for best results.
May need to do that thru 2 tanks of fuel the 1st time doing it to remove yrs/many mile of crap left behind by todays poor quality pump fuel.
Doing that will cleane carbon from pistons-valves(esp intake) -combustion chambers in general along with also cleaning the crap the poor quality pump fuel leaves behind in the injectors and on back sides of intake valves to keep the motor running properly while also being less likely to ping/detonate
and may pick up an additional mpg or so too.
I do this on my bikes and cars which keeps them all running smooth with max mpg too.
On efi vehicles after i run chevrons techron concentrated inj/combustion chamber cleaner that send crap/carbon etc out into ex system (converter & 02 sensors) i the run solder seals CAt Convetre & 02 sensor claener to remover all the crap/carbon the motor just spit out of the cat and off of the 02's too.
Doing that is just as important as running the techron so you dont end up fouing/contaminatingl the cat & 02's with too much carbon etc when running the techron cleaner.
BTW,all the above is applicable to the bike or truck.
Good luck.

YUP and add the winter grade/formula fuel they use in ny state too and that collectively together really reduced mpg ,i know because i too live in NYS.
The colder the temp the more fuel the EFI has to feed the motor to keep it at proper fuel to air ratio which reduces mpg along with winter forumula fuel by design also reducing mpg too.
