Hi all, I will start by saying I bought my first harley this past oct and love it. Now I was raised around harleys as my dad was in a mc club when I was a kid so I always herd that harleys were superior bc they where american bikes. I have owned many crotch rockets and had my dads friends pick on me. So to the point, why is every genuine harley accessory made in china? Its just kinda funny to me to find out that the guys making jokes during my up bringing were putting made in china stuff on there bikes.

 

Just more proof that a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. A mind is a terrible thing.

 

Well, you are not quite correct. Some are from Japan, some are from Taiwan.

My Sears Craftsman's are now made in Mexico.

Research where your forks are made.

Research where your cast wheels are made.

Research where your fuel injection is made.

Research where your brakes are made.

Research who makes Harley oil.

Check out the tags on your Harley T-shirts, leather jackets, and rain suits.

We live in a world wide economy. The lowest bidder gets the business.

 

And don't think for a minute that Victory's are any different. I'm sure the same is true of the new Indians ... I've heard it said that the most "American Made" motorcycle on the market is the Gold Wing. Dunno - can't say.

 

OK. Buy a Panhead or Shovel with all original parts or accept it.

 

Some things are better left unknown and unasked and left to your imagination...like magic.

 

In many cases, the only product made in America is the label that says "Made in China".

 

They were just messing with ya! Should have had fun with it, as they had your back.

 

I do except the fact that many of my parts are made in other country's. I work for a very large well known american truck manufacturer and I see all the non american parts that are used. Like I said I love my bike just think its funny that I used to get ripped on growing up
