Help me out here. I was reading the following listing on E-bay whereas the seller states that Nightster production was stopped due to the recent strike. I was under the assumption that Sportsters were built in Kansas but the strike was in Pa. Is this just a ploy by the seller to boost interest? If it is, it worked. The bids are$1000 over MSRP.
According to HD's web site, Sportsters, Dynas, and V-Rods are built in Kansas City. Also, according to their web site the strike was by York PA workers, who produce Softails. One of the releases mentions that they cut back engine production in Wisconsin due to the strike, but again, that shouldn't have affected Sportster motor production. Sounds to me like he's just trying to drive the price up!
It is my understanding that York PA plant is mainly about the larger bikes.... mostly touring models.... Folks will say antything to inflate their price, but in this case, I think they are dead wrong.
Exactly. The KC Plant makes sportsters, dyna's a v-rods. The PA plant makes the tour rigs. Sounds like he tried to make his bike sound "rare" , when in reality, he doesn't have a clue.

Yeah, but you have to give him credit, he's got the bid up over $11,000 for a $10,000 bike.......he must be a politician.
