a bike than has been ridden in the rain has never really bothered me. it is the maintenance and care of it that matters. In October 2013 I bought a Florida Sherriff's bike and I know they rode it in the rain and no issues with it at all. And being Canadian not only have I rode in the rain I have been caught in a snow storm also.
I believe some people ride in the rain because the bike may be their only transportation.
Some people may check the weather channel before going riding and decide to take the
car, Some people get caught in the rain because they didn't realize a storm was
brewing. But a bike that has never seen rain?
I agree and I will also add that I live in the PNW and I have never ridden in the rain "on purpose" but I've been caught in the rain a few times. I suppose it is possible to have never ridden in the rain but not around here.
I've had a few GREAT rides in the rain! Not on purpose but if you ride enough it happens. My girl and I bitch the entire time it's pouring and we're soaked. But after a warm shower at home and a change of clothing we talk about what a good day it was. I never plan to ride in the rain but here in Florida it rains often even with a perfect weather report
I've never ridden mine in a hail storm or a tornado. Or through a wall of flame!
Ah c'mon, I've been caught in hail storms in Arizona and missed a tornado here by one day. I'll have to work on that wall of flame thing for the trifecta.
Granted it was only 3500 miles, but the entire time i had my sportster it never saw rain. I pay a lot of money every month for my truck. So when weather is bad or rain is expected ill drive it.
I want to enjoy the bike, not get stuck in the rain on it.
BUT i might be lucky, im in Southern California so its easy to avoid rainy days

As was pointed out in another thread, the bike gets wet by washing or by rain. I think the issue is more about the hazards and comfort of riding in the rain....😶
Hey I don't care if a bike has been ridden in the rain. I just couldn't believe a tourer 10 or so years old was never ridden in the rain. I am in the southeast and we get our share of rain. I have yet to be on a trip and not gotten at least some rain, frost, dew or other wet weather. I just couldn't believe a seller who claimed otherwise. I wouldn't cancel a trip cause it's raining here or there. Funny chit above though.
