So I was headed to work early for once this morning. As I was merging off of an intersection, this hatchback looking like an old dodge colt cuts across 5 lanes out of a parking lot directly across traffic. When he gets to my lane, he slams on the brakes. I tried to brake but fish tailed and laid down before going over and into the side if his car. As I was getting up, this coward hauls *** away from the scene. I'm fine with a little soreness. My bikes front end took a beating.
I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance but does anyone have some suggestions for good repair work out of the San Antonio TX area?
Hey Don't worry about a beating from 6 gun. You just get well then make your bike well and all will be well, but if the insurance is involved DO NOT sign any thing till you know what you are getting and why. I've been there and done that and got the sweatshirt.
Be sure you get a police report on the hit and run, and maybe too late, but get a witness's contact info. Insurance carrier might require it to keep you from being tagged as "at fault".
Any chance a traffic camera in the area caught the bastard's plate? .
License plates often lead to dead ends in hit and runs. Drivers who flee do so because:
1. They are unlicensed
2. uninsured
3. suspended or revoked
4. no registration
5. drunk or otherwise impaired
6. illegal or undocumented
7. wanted
which all means the car is not registered to the driver..
which means the owner of the car sold it a year ago and they don't know who bought it..
