Default Tips needed or parking on grass

Hi everyone,

I live in apt community and my bike is parked in general parking spot exposed to the wonderful miami elements( it has a cover though). Anyhow my grandfather lives within walking distance of me and offered for me to park my bike there in his yard. Problem is, its all grass. Any advice what i can put under the bike to make sure it stays up? Any help is greatly appreciated, thx.

i park mine outside too but i dont think i would be parking it in the grass all the time.
even if you have a nice little stable spot, what happens when you want to take off and all the grass is soaked?
i wouldnt want to risk having to cruise through wet grass/mud but thats me

Me niether, I was hoping for suggestions on something to put between the grass and the bike that would be stable

I wouldn't worry about the tires, but I'd put something flat and stiff under the kickstand. A piece of plywood or metal about 1' x 1' should keep it from sinking into the grass.

Plywood; or maybe help your granddad make a little parking area out of some paving stones from your local Lowes...

Plywood seems like a good idea, fairly cheap. Keep the ideas coming, thx.

This... go buy or borrow a dirt compactor, power or manual, and pack it down as much as you can. Then check for clearance priced brick slabs or plywood and make a parking spot for your bike. You could also make a little pathway for your bike if you don't want to ride on the grass. I always ride my bike on the grass to get it in and out of my backyard and it's no problem unless it's wet - then it makes a mess of your bike.
