Heck all you have to do is play in a child's jug band to know sound is made blowing across a hole not into it.
Scaredofrain seems to be talking about the accordion automotive style ducting that the OP refers to in post 8. You seem to be referring to the PVC the OP refers to in post 1.

Hey guys, before coming up with ideas for why this won't work, or possible negative points, WHY NOT TRY IT AND SEE IF IT WORKS.
If you don't want to try it, for whatever reason, then STFU.

Pay him no mind is right. Never has anything positive to contribute. Lot more I could say but will not stoop that low.

JohnMn and Scaredofrain--I figured Scaredofrain was talking about my idea using accordion style ducting--and wondered why that stuff does in fact give off a harmonic vibe when wind blows through? When JohnM gave the example of air passing over the wind instruments it made sense. The inside of the ducting sort of has hips and valleys and as air passes over the valleys at just the right speed produces sound as JohnMn explained. Thats how I understand it now? Anyway thanks to both. Maybe a crazy cross wind passing over the opening could cause noise also?

What a clever idea. Always amazed at how people on motorcycle forums resolve issues. Well done.

Yeah, I thought of that,, I think the bike would have to be moving 30mph or less with a hard cross wind of 30-40 to do it. The opening being so close to other stuff on the bike (triple tree, forks and head light) will also interrupt a direct cross wind,, but it's possible.
I'm going to try it for sure and experiment.
I also use a quick detach windshield, and just as it is I use it sometimes and sometimes not.
I wear prescription glasses and the daily glasses are not wind resistant, so the windshield is nice for the daily commute across town to work and good to about 50mph,, after that I get buffeting boppin my helmet around pretty good,, that's not comfortable for anymore then just a few miles.
If I plan an afternoon or fun run I drop the windshield, put on the riding glasses and enjoy the day in the wind.
But if I'm going 300miles on the freeway to visit my son, having that windshield for 4hrs of 70+mph sure helps beat fatigue.

that's thinking outside of the BOX...

I remember back in the 70's when I had WindJammer Fairing that had came with two Holes/Vents in the shield that could be adjusted to relieve the Neg Pressure to help with buffering...

Heres a couple pics as what they looked like back then

You can still find those vents at aviation shops.

If you are going to use 3/4" like op mentioned, it would still be relatively cheap use stainless.

Awesome fskitch, I might have to give this a try while I am working on my batwing mod over the next few months.
