My method is very simple yet very effective.
You can look up wind buffeting and find a few explanations on cause and cure.
I'm talking about the type of buffeting that when riding in certain wind conditions behind a windshield causes your glasses and helmet to bounce around so much as to obscure vision and give you a headache.
So heres what works for me.
2 pieces of 14"- ž" PVC with 45 degree cuts at both ends spray painted black and zip tied to your windshield hardware and forks.
As you increase speed air travels up the pipes and blows air up into the dead air space directly behind the shield that causes buffeting..heres some close up photos and some shots from far enough away to show how inconspicuous they are installed.
Sounds like you diagnosed and provided a solution..If you were to design V2.0, would you try to
Mount w/o zip ties, a more finished top and edge..different material, things like that?
I have fangs that work great but not atall inconspicuous

Nothing wrong with cable ties. Harley uses them all the times. Even CVO's have them so it's HD all over. Just make sure that you use the cheapest ones you can find so they blend in!!!

Yes. I have an idea to use flat plastic 6-8 inch wide ˝-ž inch thick accordion automotive style ducting and run up behind windshield bag.
Riffle makes a vent kit that requires cutting a hole in your windshield. I think harley may have picked up on that design for their newer touring bikes with the "mail slots".

You want to be careful you don't end up with a motorised air horn. These hoses can cause a hell of a noise when air passes through them at the right speed.
