Filling while sitting on the bike is a sure sign of a poser.

I agree with that, UNLESS I have to go inside to get the receipt! If so, I will purposely leave my bike (or cage) at the pump while I casually walk in to get my receipt -- and I always get the receipt.

While on the Street Glide I get off and fill up. With the Slim I found its easier to just straddle the bike and the nuts are clear of any spills.

What do you all do with the low grade gas that's in the hose and pump so you fill up with premium? I just run the first gallon in the trash can so I always get off the bike.

Isn't the bike leaning if you aren't sitting on it there by not really making the act a "fill up"? unless one sits on the bike holding it upright, one cannot truly "fill" the bike now can one?

I'm almost always sit on the bike and fill up and I put my gas cap on my floor board. Guess I'll stop doing that and get off the bike

So weird. I always am on my bike, I can get more gas in it when its vertical, especially if I wiggle the bike a bit to get air bubbles out.

There must be some pretty uncoordinated/careless bikers out there, I've never had an issue.
