There is a reason they didn't pass you....Not saying anything bad but they didn't think you were safe enough to be on the road .I would practice and take the test again or take it through the BMV.

I drive a cage the same way I drive a bike. If you practice the basics in your cage it will help you. Specifically, if he says you are having turn issues it is probably related to turning your head and your focus point.

Always turn your head to look through the turn before you actually begin it focusing on the exit point and adjusting it further out as you progress through the turn (practice in the cage). Do not at anytime look down, or make any adjustments while turning such as braking or shifting. Your bike will follow and you will execute smooth flawless turns.

Don't sell the bike just read through the MSF BRC course book a few times and apply what you can to the cage. It will become second nature soon enough.

Just my .02 worth.

I am curious if anyone else in the class "failed" the riding part?? Did any of the instructors offer one on one input? In my MSF class the instructors were great in that department. One even gave his number as he meets with people on weekends to help them with the areas they feel not so comfortable in. And there isn't a fee involved..........

On cornering, snap your head and eyes as far as you can in the direction you are turning, the bike will follow. If you are cornering slow keep your clutch in the "friction zone" and light pressure on the back brake, and again, snap your head AND eyes the direction you are going. Countersteering takes a little practice, but is pretty easy once you get a grasp on the concept. Push right, go right....push left, go left. Don't be dicouraged. Keep practicing. You might want to pick up the "Ride Like a Pro" video. It has some good info on slow manuevering. Good luck!!

I taught the MSF course for 6 years and practice is the key. Wait for your bike.

I wouldn't give up just yet. A bit more practice and go back and try again.

$75 for a private lesson is very inexpensive. I say go for the private lesson and do the course over again. I've seen many people that failed the first time and come back to pass it later. Practice is the key.
