1 is to 8 as 'x' is to 100. 100 divided by 8 = 12.5

1/8 = 12.5 /100

So 1 1/8 = 1.125 (pretty close!)

1/8" = .125", so 1.110 is .015" shy of 1-1/8" or about the about the thickness of a cheap generic business card difference.

1/8" equals .125 in measurement .110 is equal to 1/9". You are .015" smaller than you need. Is this something you can shim to the .015"?
edit. I type too slow!
