Just a follow up to the Fuel Pak test my mechanic was doing. He had 3 bikes (one my 07 Fat Boy)with no fuel management at all running for 100-300 miles. Bikes ran good, spark plugs looked good. We put the Fuel Pak's on the other day and all run good. Really not much of a difference. Was more of a pain in the A$$ to put it in than what it says. My mechanic is a licensed Harley mechanic and it took him an hour and a half to put it in. No chrage for labor anyway since it was a test. One thing that you do have to change if mode 23 from 16 to 50 to make it run good and not get a sputtering sound on deceleration. Thank you FUEL PAK!!! Now I know my bike is safe for sure. Unless you plan on doing engine upgrades in the near future save yourself the money anddon't get the PCIII or Race Tuner and just get the Fuel Pak.
Thanks for the info, you are correct about step 23 being at 16 on all the diffrent settings. I like my V&H fuel pack and my bike runs great, but it does have a little back rap when coming down hill with the throttle off or if you let off the throttle some times. I just changed step 23 from 16 to 50 myself and plan to give it a try this weekend.
There are better products out there than the fuel pack.
Second, do you really think by installing a fuel pack that your bike will run great?
It still needs to be dialed in. Waste all that money on pipes, intake, A/C, and fuel management and not spring for a dyno tune to get the most out of your bike.
A properly tuned bike will not pop on decel.
I was able to get almost 20 more HP with a set of pipes, A/C and PCIII WITH A DYNO TUNE.

LOL. DOCPoof. It does run great. It always has. My bike does not pop at all on decel. I could care less about 10 more horse power either. Like my bike just the way it is.
Bill G, give it a shot. It truly is amazing how just changing mode 23 from 16 to 50 changed the whole sound.

Thanks, I will give it a tryand I agree with youLOL. DoCPoof. My bike runs great, plug color is good and I could care less about 10 more horse power,the96 cu on my 07has enough allready.
I've got an '07 Roadglide all stock at the moment. I've ordered the K&N filter kit for 07 Touring, the V&H Fuel Pak, and a set of V&H Dresser Duals Headers and the Oval Slip ons. Plan on installing all at the same timeafter the pipes come in Tuesday. I'll keep mode 23 in mind after I try the reccommended settings from the V&H site and report on the difference. I'm expecting a big change.....in both performance and sound. I'm excited!
Knowing what I know about fuel systems and dyno tuning
( I work for an exhaust pipe company where I run the dyno and do fuel mapping) Adding or subtracting values using thebuttonson any tuner is a miniscule amount of adjustment.
FOR instance. PCIIIUSB....
Pressing buttons hardly make a big change in AFR on the dyno using a wide band AFR sampler.
You need to go into the map and highlight a batch of cells and page up/down to really see a big change.
Guessing and pressing buttons will show a minimal change.....but to get power making results it really needs to be done on a load dyno in several different gear selectionsby someone who knows what they are doing.
OR get yourself an Innovate LM1 wideband data logger.
I use it on the dyno and in the field for data logging.
V&H Sideshots with Fuelpak work great for me. V&H tune with no popping. I did have a bit of install issue with the rear O2 sensor being a little short. Noticed it is tie wrapped. Cut the tie wrap and gave me plenty of length. V&H has spent a lot of time designing and engineering the correct settings for these differnent applications. A good dyno tune is a good thing but my experience has proven there are a lot of unqualified people out there claiming to be dyno tuners when their final product says they aren't. Be careful who tunes your bike.

Just put my Fuel Pak on and am getting a little decel pop but not bad. The thing I noticed is when I'm running about 55 mph and go to pass someone it doesn't seem like I have the power I should.. I get alot of bad-*** sound but nothing to back it up. I emailed V&H and they said to recalibrate the throttle which didn't help so now waiting to see what they have to say. I'm also wondering if mode 23 is changed from 16 to 15 or to 50.
