The Vance and Hines tech told me the same thing when I told hime that I was not satisfied with the sound of my bike when decelling. He told me to go to Mode 23 and change it from 16 to 50 and then go to Mode 19recalibrate theFuel pak to your bikeand then power the bike down and then wait a second and them power it back up and ride.
I am very pleased with the results.

I've got an '07 Roadglide all stock at the moment. I've ordered the K&N filter kit for 07 Touring, the V&H Fuel Pak, and a set of V&H Dresser Duals Headers and the Oval Slip ons. Plan on installing all at the same timeafter the pipes come in Tuesday. I'll keep mode 23 in mind after I try the reccommended settings from the V&H site and report on the difference. I'm expecting a big change.....in both performance and sound. I'm excited!
I have the same setup on my bike and couldn't be happier with the sound and performance. It cut down on some of the right leg heat.
Hello. I was wondering if you got the factory stage 1 download? It is my understanding that the stock rev limiter is set at around 4500. The stage 1 download raises the rev limiter to 6250. The rev limiter can be raised with the PCIII alone by initiating the Revxtend feature.
Factory rev limit is 5800, stage 1 is 6200, sert 7500 max, but don't go over 6200 with a TCB; else
What some of these folks need to realize is that not everyone wants to dump $750-$1000 into an EFI tuner, plus more $$$ on dyno time, just to richen up the mix a little. The Fuel Pak isn't the most expensive system out there, nor is it the fanciest. But for those looking to correct air-fuel ratios for near-stock setups or minor mods, it's a great alternative. V&H has about a thousand maps covering most air filter/pipe/cam/ECM program combinations, and the map can be changed as the mods change. For many people this is adequate.
I don't need any more power- hell, even after a couple grand in mods the average HD will still get pimp-slapped by any self-respecting jap muscle bike, many in stock trim. I don't care about additional hp- I just want more engine-friendly AFR's to help cool things down a bit and possibly add a little to engine longevity.
For those who think dropping a grand on a EFI tuner & dyno time is a good thing, more power to ya. But I'd rather spend $180 for a FP that cools my engine down and gets my AFR right, and use the leftover cash for bling. To each his own.
My sparkplugs tell me my engine is happy- and that's all I need...
I bought my sert on ebay, 340 delivered, I thought this was and is an acceptable price, 5 went buy it now for 300 delivered two weeks later. My point was to correct the inaccuracies that were stated of the factory rev limit. NOT that the fuel pak isn't an attractive alternative, which I myself pondered for the 06-07 winter months. I'm sorry you took my post as buy a sert over a cost effective method if that's what you are looking for. Just don't start me on pciii
Looks like it's talked about in "frequently asked questions"under "support". Also talks about needing to have the setting higher if you don't roll completely off the throttle between shifts. Joe Minton likes it, and that's good enough for me. He just dialed in a 96" Dyna using the road as his dyno.

If you are referring to his latest article in Oct. American Rider, he did that using a Cobra FI1200R , which is similar to many other products on the market below $300 in cost. His method should work on any of them with three or more pods.
