The FP can be used with the Stage 1 download. When you select your map one of the questions/parameters is ECM calibration- Stock, Stage 1, etc. and it makes allowances for the altered programming in the ECM.
This can be verified on the V&H website Fuel Pak FAQ's.
Actually, I just looked at the V&H website and for my model and my year they only have STOCK as an option for ECM. So I actually couldn't do it if I had the download.

Not necessarily- you could probably call them and they could tell you what parameters to change to compensate for the Stage 1 ECM. Their tech support guys are pretty good...
After reading all the posts I had to jump in. Bike is 06 FLSTNI, Ness big sucker, Cycle Shack slip ons, and FP map 0015. The dyno said 77.49 HP and 81.79 ft/lbs. A/R ratio is steady (scale not calibrated), was told it is 13.7. Bike runs strong and starts easy.
Not bad for a $600 investment. Best of all no Harley labor costs...
I have my FP off my 07 ultra,,,, V&H has no settings for the 08 yet?
so,,, my 07 FP might be for sale,,, used for about 4,000 miles, like new, with box and papers,
PM me if interested,, but I wanna be sure it wont work on my 08?!
I finished installing the K&N AC, V&H Duals w/ oval slip ons and the FP. Crazy how diffierent it is. I made sure there were no exhaust leaks from the git go (got new exhaust flange gaskets too), changed all at once, and the FP couldn't have been easier to install! About 4 hours for the pipes changover (took my time and did it right the first time) and about 20 minutes for the FP install AND Calibration! Now that's slick!
The bike sounds sounds SOOOOOOO good! and before I know it I'm up to speed on the highway! Have to get used to the new sound....sounds like I'm rev'ing higher, but tach say's the same. No pop on decel at all, just a nice purring sound. I'm not looking for a racer, just a good strong highway runner and this seems to have been the perfect prescription. This sure has put the "glide" in my RoadGlide for sure!

MN- How do your plugs look- especially after a long trip at highway speeds? They will tell you a lot about how your engine's running.
I use the FP and my highway mileage at 60-65 mph averages about 48-49 mpg.
Unfortunately, we are in an ethanol state, and the plugs always look black on most anything. However, my pipe outletswent from a "white" look to a nice grayish tan after doing the stage 1, at 5,000 miles. We have 18,500 now with no problems, but at 70 mph I'm down in the high 30's for milieage.
Your mileage should be at least 10-20% less with 10% ethanol.
V&H will tell you about it if you call and ask, at least they explained it to me.
It shuts the fuel completely off on deceration to stop the backfiring.
