I have a 2003 sportster 883. I have been having problems with shifting. When cold it shifts perfect, but after a few miles and it gets warmed up, it will start shifting in between gears, and feels as if I'm in neutral. I have tried shifting every way possible so I know it is not my error. I adjusted my clutch probably 60 times, I put new fluid in it, tightened up my primary chain, adjusted on my linkage, and still not getting any better. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help!
Also, the timing was off causing shifting problems before, and I had that fixed a few months ago and everything was perfect till now.
Thanks Jason

Do you mean that when you shift it goes to neutral between gears... then requires yet another shift movement to reach a gear? If so id say bent or worn linkage or shifter paws. But idk.
Yes, it will go into hear while you wiggle it around. But by then I need to downshift. The linkage is new. It still didn't help adjusting it.
I'm going to check the shifter pawl and dogs. Also the shift shaft needle bearing was non existing when I got the bike. I noticed from the fluid pouring on my back tire. I put one in it and it has been going good for a few thousand miles until now. I how the hole isn't worn from the shift shaft wobbling in it. I wouldn't think so if it happened this long after. Who knows. Thanks for the input!
