anybody got gear drive cams ?
do gear drives makea lot of noise or just more than stock I am going to get them and have never heard a bike with them at least that I know of and don't know anybody with them any real big problem with additional noise I mean really I have drag pipes already???????????????????????????????????????
There's a TINY bit of whining from the cams, but unless you really listen for it, you'll never notice it, especially with drag pipes. When I do hear it, I dig it, and I usually only hear it when I'm decelerating and using the engine to slow down. It reminds me of the sound a super-charger makes when it's wound up (but at a barely audible volume).
barely hear my 510Gs. i think the S&S are quieter due to the gears and cams are one piece making closer tolerance. andrews and others slide the gears on the cams making it possible for more variation and hence noise.
Every bike is different, but anytime you add preformance parts, you should not be suprised with a little more noise, doesn't always happen but it can. But as a rule gear driven cams, are not noticeably different.
