Why can't you say that it looks beautiful? Say it and be happy for him.While not your cup of tea, it seems like he's happy with what he got. Just needs a new seat, maybe a sissy bar & backrest(if he's going to do much2-up riding) and he's ready to go. While I don't like the hockey puck on saddlebags that much, for that price, hegot a decent deal.

The good thing about the hockey puck is when you paint it black it won't easily been seen and you can open it up while going down the road if needed. Not saying that he should paint it black or get into his saddle bags while riding though.

I am with everyone else, lighten up on your friend. Although I must admit I have had more then one friend that really got to me talking about how great their bike was, when I just couldn't see what they were talking about. I guess one of the tests of true friendship is accepting one anothers flaws.

We go back and forth bustin ***** but would take our shirts off our backs for each other. he actually introduced me to my wonderful Brazilian wife through his Brazilian girlfriend so I probably should lighten up on him. I guess we have a lot in common actually with South American women and American bikes.
From what he tells me, the police issue Roadking sits higher and has some other modifications that I am not qualified to confirm nor can remember. I guess it's really a good bike in the end and you guys inspired me to do some soul searching regarding my flogging of friends post purchase.

Just add me on to what the others are saying.
The local dealer here in Indianapolis has about a dozen police bikes on the floor right now. The ones around here are sherrif brown. I know a guy that bought one a couple of years back. All he really did was change the seat and add some HD tank emblems and it looked completely different. It won't take much to get him started.
