For several months now I've been looking for a GoPro mount that will fit either on my handlebar or crash bar of my 09 Harley Fat Bob. I'm not one of those guys who likes to put a mount on top of his helmet. IMO it makes you look like a geek. I've done two purchases so far through eBay The first Mount was cheap plastic and the other one was too small to fit on my handlebar. I'm tired of just throwing money away on crap.. I would like to get some suggestions from you guys as to the best way that I can mount this GoPro.
A couple friends have tried the camera mounted on the fairing, crash bars, handle bars and, top of helmet. Mounting on top of helmet worked the best. There was just too much vibration in every place but top of helmet. As a former racer, I follow the National Motocross circuit via TV on Fox Sports 1 and 2. Almost all of the riders video themselves. Of those that do, everyone uses the camera on top of the helmet. Never seen one mounted in other places. YMMV. Good luck.

I have one that mounts under the mirror stem and another that's a U clamp on the handlebar. One is for my GoPro, the other for my Garmin.
Both work well. Check http://www.rammount.com/activity/mot...mounts#/wizard
I've been using a gopro on my fatboy since I got it. Been playing with different mounts. One of the more versatile mounts I like is the Jaws from gopro. You can lock the camera directly to it (or use the gooseneck that comes with but that helps add vibrations. Ok for stills, not so ok for video.) I've used the jaws on my handlebars and on the front of the frame down low (sideways but getting a really cool perspective) and the video is great. I have also been looking at some Ram mounts lately as well though. They seem to have something for everything and they do have gopro specific mounting pieces.
I will admit that I do go a bit overboard but if you want a stable platform, go professional. But, If you you don't want to invest a grand into a pro system then go with something that is more friendly.... I do like the RAM Mounts I have them on my bike and on my Jeep. It's a great system.

My favorite mounting location is on the chin guard area of a full face helmet. It doesn't catch wind and look silly like on top of the helmet and gives a great view. Plus whatever you turn to look at the camera will also see. This doesn't matter though unless you wear a full face helmet.
I use ram mounts. looking at the video closely you can see the diff mounts on the bike....Depending on the road conditions, RPMs and where its mounted will show camera shake.....Heres a video of a lot of diff angles using the gopro......https://vimeo.com/163147643#t=NaNs
