We live an jacked up world where life has very little to no value for some.. In these days, you really have to think before you act and for me having the knee jerk reaction, I would have also tried to stop a thief even fully loaded..
I agree, except the LAW doesn't...
The law says you CAN NOT use lethal force for a property crime.
In other words you can't shoot someone for ripping off your Harley. Total bullshit and scumbag thieves know this...
YOU will go to Prison for murder or manslaughter for killing the thief in the parking lot.
Better to just call the cops and get a plate or any other info-sucks!
"You are generally permitted to use minimal force to remove a trespasser from your property (someone on your property who has no lawful claim to it, whom you have asked to leave and who has refused), but you may not cause him serious harm unless he is violent, in which case the usual AOJP rules apply.
You cannot shoot someone for stealing your car. You cannot shoot someone for stealing your wallet. You cannot shoot someone for wandering over your property line. In the eyes of the law, life has priority over possessions—even a criminal’s life. You may defend your own safety with the use of force, but not your stuff."

That's correct (although the extent varies somewhat by state.) Perhaps he went outside when he heard someone screwing with his bike. Clearly Larry would have been in his rights and needed to defend himself with lethal force based upon how this one turned out. It's always easy after the fact.
I was hoping for some type of miscommunication problem or maybe he had Alzheimer's or something. Even crashing the bike would have been better than this.
To hear this news angers me immensely. Those scum bags will have an accident in prison or if they are turned loose, they will have an accident. Their faces and names are known.
Regarding carrying, isn't it a big hassle to get the paperwork necessary to legally transport firearms, especially handguns, across state lines?
