It just breaks my heart to read this. My prayers will continue for his wife, family, and this poor man who just wanted to retire and enjoy the golden years.
We all need to do whatever is necessary to stay safe as we travel. There are the lowest forms of humans out there that simply need to be put out of their misery.

We live an jacked up world where life has very little to no value for some.. In these days, you really have to think before you act and for me having the knee jerk reaction, I would have also tried to stop a thief even fully loaded..
I am so sorry that it turned out this way but I knew it had to be that or Larry crashing somewhere in the brush.
Larry was a mark as soon as he was spotted by these thieves rolling into that crime infested town, all alone, an older man, who then decided to check in for the night for some R&R, parked in back of that motel in a dark, secluded area away from the road. Damn...this was easy pickins...
They wanted that Harley because lowlife scumbag thieves would rather take something from others than earn it themselves. Theft, food stamps, welfare, assisted living on the Governments dime are right down a leeches alley. This was easy money-
They rolled in for the bike, but when Ol' Larry heard the noise or saw them and ran out to confront them, the scum wasn't about to be stopped by an older white guy with no firearm. Larry had no chance...3 against one.
They took him down and got their bike. Probably threw him in the truck and dumped him in a field like a piece of meat, then they went and got some weed, got high, and were going to strip that bike down for parts and cash to feed their drug habit, pay child support to the baby mama, or gamble the cash away...
Big problem though-Stupid thieves made too many mistakes and got caught with all the heat on them and on this case. My hats off to all the Missouri police and law enforcement, combined with the press coverage and social media efforts who really put it out full force and a full court press on this case.
May these scum sucking waste of a life get the death penalty, sit in isolation till they are executed, then rot in hell for eternity.
So many lessons to learn here for ANY solo rider in an unfamiliar area, that I don't know where to start.
Godspeed Larry and my your family stay strong during this most horrible time.
