The wheels of justice turn slow , but they are turning. Those three are in jail and not going anywhere anytime soon. They will get their just deserts. But I to wish it would happen sooner than later. As long as people keep the pressure on things will happen.

I never knew Larry, but I know about him.

Run For The Wall maintains a Missing Man Formation (MMF) as we cross the country. This year it is my honor to ride for Larry. We are reserved for MMF Day 2, segment 3. Wilcox AZ to Deming NM. God Bless

Default Rather be judged by twelve

As I think about how slowly the wheels of justice grind along, I am beginning to think that preemptive actions in the face of a life-threatening situation where you end up being judged by 12 rather than carried by 6 is making more sense.

Larry is missed by many that rode with him and many of us who ride the highways and byways and remember what happened to a fellow biker trying to keep his stuff. Sadly but fortunately, Larry Weaver's legacy will help a lot of us to stay more vigilant and recognize that the system seems to be tilted in favor of the bad guys. Whatever happened to the phrase "swift justice"?

The wheels turn slowly because of lawyers on both sides, and for good reasons, actually, As a defendant, you are entitled to a quick trial, but usually little or no evidence exists for a good defense effort, and even the prosecution, wants to find every little thing to drive extra charges up to make the actual crime seem worse. Both sides want the furor of the crime to settle down, also to find a truly impartial jury, to keep the possibility of a mistrial for any reason. Hes in jail, death penalty will not be on the table, at any rate, maybe not even a first degree charge in the end. Laws vary from state to state. Here in cali, to help get a guilty verdict, they will do lots of tricks to make sure he stays in prison for a lot longer than sentencing calls for. In the end, be prepared to be disappointed in his sentence. It never seems enough to the victims family, and always too long for the perp. the only real winner, here is the public, as this guy is off the street for a long time.
