My own personal kit involves only those tools necessary to perform repairs I can REALISTICALLY do on the road. Fix-a-flat, a couple of blinker bulbs, a multi-tool, small vice grips, small roll of duct tape, a piece of aluminum foil, super glue, a medium sized knife, and a basic first aid kit. Anything else.....AAA

Very cool setup. I'd hate to give up a bag for that, but would be happy to have the stuff if something needed fixing.

I can still get things in the bag. I put my leathers in there with no problem

Think about what will realistically sideline you if you're on a trip, and like mentioned above, you're able to fix on the road. I had a tool kit that the previous owner of one of my previous bikes left in the saddlebags, and it's got just about everything that I could imagine needing. It has a Snap On\H-D 8-in-1 screw driver which is convenient because it has the torx bits in it too that let you take off the fairing and derby covers. I also have a bunch of allen keys, and some combo wrenches. I'm not sure if it's available anymore, but maybe it can be a good base line to build a kit.

600 Miles? That's a day trip.

If you take care of your bike, perform the routine scheduled maintenance when due, check oil, tire pressure, belt tension, etc before a ride, you shouldn't need anything except gas for a 600 mile trip.

Maybe a tire repair kit, a multi tool and some duct tape. Cell phone and a credit card will take care anything else.

If you knew your bike, and how to fix it, you wouldn't ask.
Take a cell phone, HD directory, and AAA card.
