Apes are not for aggressive riding. If thats your style, you might want to opt for drags or something in that style. A shorter throw will handle faster. A longer throw is going to handle sluggishly.
I like the way my Fatboy handles with the Apes. I am not a speed demon, but I can hang with all of my buddies with their drag bars. Heck, most times I am the one leading. But, if you decide to go with the apes, just do it and you won't regret it. I know I don't

If they are slugish it's because your risers need new bushings that's all.

I second that exactly. I have 16"s and they handle much better than stock. I just look at them and they turn the bike.
We should start seeing them on the rice rockets and racing bikesas well
then. Maybe even on motocross bikes!
