I have a VMax and a VRod. I picked up a 1997 fatboy about 6 months ago. Long story short, after getting it home and cleaned up found it only had 2107.8 miles on it! I absolutely love it!.......till I rode a friends 2007. So I just bought a 2007.
The VRod has a stage 1, the '97 I was told a stage 3, the 2007 is stock.
I would appreciate any advice on a 2007 stage 1. I'm sure a lot has changed since it came out, what are my options?
Thank you!
PS, I need brackets for a sissy bar if anyone has any laying around.
Before I give out any advice,I want to hear the rest of the story on the 1997 FatBoy that you bought and did not know the mileage until you cleaned up bike.Seems like you have quite the stable of bikes.

Like I said, that was the short version.
I was down in So Cal, meeting some friends of my father. This one guy has a bike covered with old carpets and towels, two flat tires and lots of spider webs. The last tags where from 2002. I told him that was motorcycle abuse! He said he thought it had about 3500 miles on it. I bought and shipped it home, when I put a new battery in I found the real mileage. I took it to a shop and had two new tires, all the fluids changed and the carbs gone through. It's been a great bike! I just like the smoothness of the '07, the clutch and the six speed.
I got some before and after pics but don't know how to post them.
For your 07, you need will want a hi flow air cleaner, new pipes, and a tuner. See the FI/tuner section. While a Powervision is about as good as it gets, Fuelpak FP3 is a great choice.
Lots of good vendors on this forums sell the stuff you need.
You want us to tell you what to do? You came to the right place. We LOVE doing that.
Go buy an air filter that you like the look of. Whichever one. it doesn't matter. Arlen Ness, Roland Sands, Harley Davidson, Performance Machine, whatever you like.
Then buy a tuner, whatever you can afford. Power Vision 2 is the most capable, but a Power Commander, or Fuel Pak can get you by.
Now for exhaust... You want power, sound, or looks? Power, 2 into 1 is hard to beat. Sound is probably true duals, or 2-1-2. Looks is definitely 2-1-2, or true duals, IMO. Call Fuel Moto. They will give you a discount if you buy all three from them and their Jackpot exhaust is pretty well reviewed.
