Counter-steering
I glanced down when I was feeling pressure on the right bar. It did appear to me that my front wheel was turned to the left, slightly. That tells me that the pressure I was feeling on the right bar was caused by my front wheel be turned slightly to the left, ie counter-steering. This tells me that when we are feeling that "backpressure" on the bar it is caused by the wheel being turned opposite to the direction we are going, even if the lean angle is not changing.
But I have to make a distinction here, based on what I learned yesterday, holding pressure to maintain the lean angle and a "stable lean angle" are two different things. As the video of the riderless motorcycle in a stable lean demonstrated yesterday, when you are in a stable lean there should not be any back pressure on the bars. when you are in an unstable lean you have to hold backpressure on the bars to keep your lean angle stable.
