Default Rough Ride 2016 1200c

If i install new tires with less stiff sidewalls, will it ride smoother? The michelin schorchers are extremely hard . no cushion. what do you guys think ? I dont ride fast ,not a turn burner i dont see a need for stiff sidewalls .

Its a 16, you need tires already? Congrats on wearing out tires in a year on a sporty.

I have those on my 2016 48 also and the rear is done. 8700 miles and time for some new ones. I'm pretty pleased with them but don't know what I'll go with next.

Shinko's won't improve the ride but they will wear out faster.

What do you keep your tire pressure at? Have you tried adjusting your suspension?

What about a touring tire like an metzeler me888. I get about 9k on them in 7 years(medical issues) and they still look good when I swap them out. Really good in the rain and they handle pretty well too. I know a few people that get 10k + out of them.

My shinko expeirience is awful I'll leave it at that, just a cheap tire that doesn't last long.

To really make the bike ride better I would look at adjusting your rear shocks. If you really want the thing to float you may want to look at suspension upgrades as well.

Probably not much. What has your experience been on other bikes?

Only way to get a noticeably "smoother" ride is to go aftermarket suspension..., set up for your specific weight / riding style

springs / shocks / fork oil - and it need not be top of the line to get great results

"Smooth" btw - is a totally subjective state - and too smooth..., ya lose all feel in your butt - making it hard to tell when the *** end is sliding / washing out
