Default Street Glide Windshield Options

For any here interested in changing out your factory windshield. I learned by accident you can purchase a 8 inch windshield to accommodate your windshield bags. I have 15 and 17 SG's which both have windshields to accommodate my windshield bags. I installed on my 15 two years ago my 12 Limited windshield. When I purchased my 17 SG I asked to have the factory windshield removed and a Touring windshield installed. The dealer had to remove a windshield off one of the inventoried bikes since they did not stock any factory windshields. After bringing home my new 17 I noticed the windshield was shorter. I was puzzled on why the windshield was shorter than my 15 which had a 12 Limited windshield? I went back to the dealer and asked if I could purchase the new 17 Limited windshield. Upon purchase and bringing home the new windshield it was the exact same as my 12 windshield. Which all factory Limited are 10 inch windshields. I took it back and the dealer said that's the only option. I looked for the mechanic who removed the windshield off a inventory bike for my 17. He took me to a Limited 16 bike and said this is the bike, it was a Limited LOW. Ahh, now i get it. The Limited Low comes with a 8 inch factory windshield. Which the parts guys at most or all dealers do not know. They have to look up the Limited Low to see the different part numbers. I know its a bit lengthy but if you want a taller but not to tall windshield the new LOW gives you this option. And if your a 6 foot plus tall person you may like the 10 inch. But for me 5'10" its perfect on the 8 inch. No top lip in your eyes like the 10 in. Here's some pics of my rides and I think the 8 inch with the windshiled bags doesn't take away from the look.
