So while my wife does enjoy riding with me, she does not enjoy the freeway. So on my way back from work I was exploring some options on how to get from the small town I live in (Pine Valley, CA) to San Diego.
Looking at the map I saw a good option, or so I thought!! Explored it today....well it has about 6 miles of unpaved, loose dirt roads!!
Was interesting and had some great views, but not really a good option.
Reminds me of a road up here in NoCal called Morgan Territory Road. I took it once as a "shortcut." It's a two-way road with room for one, blind turns, barely paved..... Nice views too, but rode it once and never again.
yikes, not fun. Kind of reminds me of a ride a friend and I took a couple of years ago. We ventured out just for a day ride, staying off highways, and eventually just making turns to see whats up ahead. Well, up ahead started out as a dirt road (hmmm) and after a half mile turned into pavement, but ice dam broken up pavement! We had to go real slow and bounce over lifted junks. It was exhausting, but after we stopped to rest and sware we will never go on that road again, there was a kind of a mutual feeling of accomplishment....
