Default Need help considering swapping parts.

So I bought a 2000 Fxdx this past year to get into bikes with my dad. It has upgraded exhaust, carb, coils, and I've been told more than likely cyclinders and cylinder heads. Shortly after buying my bike my dad passed and I inherited a project and a 2000 heritage with stock everything save for the screaming eagle pipes. Now I'm trying considering selling my Fxdx in the near future cause 3 bikes is more than I can handle right now and money is a concern. Now if I wanted to upgrade everything on the heritage should I swap out everything I want from the Fxdx before i would sell it or not? Cylinders, heads, carb, etc... or am I better off leaving it all be and upgrading later down the road? Please go easy on me I'm new to all this and am a little overwhelmed but determined. Thanks for any help.

I am thinking up till a certain time in 2000 you could get either a Evo or Twin cam.

what you didn't say is,,, Is it carbed or FI. or how many miles it has. As you still have the really good crank bearing in the 2000 I would leave it as stock as possible.

Either engine I would not do any swapping of parts from you dyna.. for my I'd leave the heritage top end alone,, but if its a TW do check the tennsioner and maybe think about adding a cam.

I was thinking they are both twin cam 88. They are both carborated but the dyna definetly has a substantial amount of power compared to the heritage. The heritage seems to be rough when going the speed limit on the highway where as on the dyna I can pass on the highway at will with no problems.

I'd sell the FXDX as is and upgrade later.
Your looking at some serious wrench time, and unless you have the time to do everything (the swap) at once you'll end up with two bikes torn down.
If your a full mechanic with experience you might be able to do everything in your spare time, and while the average shade tree wrench can do things,, extended time periods and loss of focus on a project can make memory recall tough.
Carb swap maybe,, if it's an upgrade, but I'd leave the jugs alone.
