Default Would you loan out your bike ?

I don't mean to just anyone but are there instances where you would loan it out?

No. It is the best way to lose a friend and ruin a bike.

My dad once told me that there are three things you don't loan out: wife, gun, car. Dad didn't have a bike, but if he did the list would have four items.

Back in the day when I never locked my bikes and let one guy take a spin it cost me a lot of grief. All three times it cost me money one time a guy ran into a car I had to fix it as well. So No! never let anyone take your bike unless you have an iron clad agreement for damages.

Only a select few. My BIL has rode rode my bike a few times and I have rode his. However he and I have rode thousands of miles together and he is financially responsible.

There are 2 maybe 3 people on this planet that I would trust with my bike. That said a friend of mine loaned me his bike once. There was a group of 5 or 6 of us who were planning to go for a ride to Gettysburg for a bike week type thing. 2 days before the ride my 02 Super Glide developed an electrical problem and I wasn't going to be able to go. So the day before the ride I told the guys about it and when I did my friend said that he had gotten a last minute trip, he was a truck driver and had to go to upstate New York that night. So he offered me his brand new 04 Sportster. The bike had somewhere around 1000 miles on it. I rode it all day to Gettysburg and the surrounding area, put on about 250 miles or so. At the end of the day I washed it up nice and clean, topped off the gas tank and stopped by the HD shop which was about 5 miles from the guys house and got him a gift card.
I also had my ex wifes ex husband drop off his FXR for me to store for him while they were divorcing. Told me to ride the **** out of it, which I did.
