Mirrors Suck, How about a rear view camera
Hi,
I am a big guy with broad shoulders and rear view mirrors do not offer much rear or side vision. Has anyone tried a rear view wireless camera system to help with rear vision. The bike I ride is an Electra Glide Ultra classic but I had the same problem with a Sportster I used to own. I have tried some of Harley's optional mirrors that helped a little but not enough. A company called TadiBrothers makes a rear view camera system for motorcycles (approx. $150.00). Has anyone had experience with this system or suffers from lack of rear vision as I do?

Long stem mirrors worked for me.
Even if you are serious, it wouldn't work. The eye uses close vision to look at a camera screen and distance vision to look at the same object in a mirror. Your eyes adjusting the near and distant focus would make riding with a rear view camera dangerous. Forgedaboutit.

Mirror Extensions
Howdy,
I tried mirror extensions and they helped a little but I felt they looked a bit weird. The camera mounts on the rear of the bike and is a very small cube that is hardly noticeable . The viewing screen is only 3.5 inches so it is not real large either. If I could get a good view with mirrors I would not be checking out a camera setup. Rather be able to see and living. Glad to hear you found a solution that worked for you.

I had the same problem with the last Road Glide I had so found some HD (tribal maybe?) mirrors that helped a lot. I just can't picture a rear view camera on a bike and seems it would be a distraction. Besides, I want to see if anything is beside me when changing lanes. One of my bikes has the magnifying mirrors and the other doesn't. Thought it would take some getting used to switching between bikes but really didn't. If you do end up with the camera route I would be curious how it works out.
