I also am a cvma member chapt 22. I got my CAR in desert storm and i
was In beruit, ( yes i have the munti peace keeping medal,"beruit" ) In 1983 and helped clean up the barracks, and in the same breath It is typical of the French to say he covered our pullout. It was the only safe position they held at that time, Im a retired navy e-8 , And the cvma has requirements that will be met for our country, Hmm we dont need to discuss frances' military accomplishments or lack of. Im pround to wear cvma patch. And being a documented combat is a proud thing to be. You dont like the big patch on the back avert your eyes, dont question it just accept i, smile and move on. Start your own frog patch club requiring french combat service and other parameters, be happy. I have been around the Legion and even talked to the Legion recruiters in a booth a Toulon many times, and are cool guys with their own personal values but are definately a motivated force

Well I will not degrade another member of a military organization, American or not. However I don't think anyone in their right mind supports the accusation of the Marines tucking their tail and leaving Beirut. If the Marine Corps was supported with the political will, we would have turned Lebanon into the 51st state easily.
If you had bothered to taken the time to read the beginning of the thread you would have clearly seen this thread is about a specific organization. A link was given and it clearly shows that it is an American organization for American combat veterans. It was not a discussion about combat veterans in general.
Sorry your attitude stinks and is totally unacceptable. You were rude and critical where it was not needed. You brought the comments on yourself. Sadly they are typical of most french I have encountered, both European french and french canadians. Your despicable arrogant attitude shines through way to loud.
Honestly I think this thread needs to get back on track to discussing the CVMA not the other bs that was brought in. You want to have a discussion and insults as you have go make your own thread. No need to hijack this one or get it locked because you can't keep your attitude to yourself.
Some of the finest and fiercest soldiers I worked with was 2eme Para of the French Foreign Legion.
Very nice, thank you. The member Billyboy 980 and I both served in the 2eme REP. Billy was a scout, and I was 1st company, 2nd platoon. Where did you guys meet? Afghanistan?
You guys really need to be sending your trash back and forth by PM and leave it off of the Combat Veteran related thread. Your testosterone run-a-muk has no business here.
Saw a guy from Wilmington NC yesterday with that patch on his back...He was at Thunder tower HD in Columbia heading to Atlanta...was heading into the rain and needed a garbage bag for his stuff...He was riding a small HD bare bones...Me and Dave on the cushy Electra glides said...that's a Biker there...Young guy...good back...

frenchman,
The thread is not discussing any and all Combat Veterans Groups, but specifically THE CVMA... which is an American Combat Veterans Assosiation...
Please look at the details before you thread jack someone elses topic. If you feel the need to defend your service, or where you have been. Start your own thread. yes, everyone gets their own opinion. There is also time and place for where topics should be presented. It wopuld have been one thing if you had been intelligent and dropped perhaps one line a realized your constant banter was not needed here, but to go on and on like this for days, I mean hell, france lost major battles in less than time you have spent here. Hell start up your own topic thread, call it whatever you like, but let those of us who wish to discuss THE CVMA do so, and do so on topic without the constant whining and crying or "Battle Cries'" as the are called in france. Please just do as the french have always done, give up, turn and leave.
