It could have been a lot worse. I know some of the roads I ride on a lot, have raised spots, dips and holes. Some I remember where they are but not all. My front tire is pretty wide, so MAYBE that'll save me from a pothole disaster.

Wonder if the bolts were O.E.M. ? Never heard of both bolts 'shearing' before, in fact i've never heard of one bolt doing that !...b.

Go take a photo of the pothole if it's not patched yet and contact the county/city/state, whomever maintains the road. With your receipts, maybe you can make some kind of claim. I've heard of it in Michigan where people were bending rims/flat tires. Maybe your state will be the same?

That was a hell of a pot hole. I hit one under a bridge last week that was deep enough that my exhaust hit the road. I was surprised it did not break something. Good to hear you are okay.
