When HD went from number 16
To number 15, Dyna upper shock mounts started breaking. Glad you're OK Tony.
Thanks for the pics. The new bolt might be an improvement but it's still kind of a half-assed way to mount a shock. The last dual shock bike I owned besides my Road King was a '77 BMW. The top of the rear shock on that bike went inside the frame rail and had a Grade 8 bolt through it. If I was the OP, I'd pull the rear wheel and tire, and closely inspect the inside of the tire, the rim of the wheel, and the wheel bearings.
Nice job keeping it upright! I managed to avoid a crater two weeks ago that could have disasterous, luckily I had just come out the road from a stop sign, so I was going pretty slow.
Keep a good eye on that tire. On the first sign of wobble/bounce get rid of it. A good hit to a tire can separate the plays, may take a while to show up.
Way to go Tony. Where was the hole ? Not that it's even remotely close to riding it out on a bike but I just got the 530 back last night after hitting a hole on 85 north in So Carolina ,minding my business in the fast lane one second off the shoulder on the right sideways the next. 5400 in damage. It scared the living **** out of me can't imagine hitting one at speed on the bike. You got an angel looking out for you.
I might be done in Charlotte in a couple weeks. We need to get out and ride. It's been a while.G.
