My starter just clicks when I try to start it. Is it the battery or the starter?

 

Do you have a tester? Try a trickle charge on it, see how it goes. How old is the battery? And check your connections.....

 

Could be either, but most likely the battery and/or the terminal or ground cable connections. Like said above, get it fully charge and try it. If that's no good, get it load tested. Depending on the age of the battery it's probably time for a new one. Get a tender and keep it hooked up when parked.

I do not have a tester and I put the battery on trickle charge. Not sure how old it is. I will take it and have it tested. Thank you all for the input!
