Default How to be certain of engine installed on an Ultra classic

There's an '05 UC peace officer edition local to me and the fella told me it has the "105" in it.

How can I verify which engine it has?

Maybe he meant modified to 105 from an 88. Ask if he has any paper work.

I don't think the guy knows what he has. I'd bet there's no paperwork, because common sense says to let someone know about the paperwork especially when they ask about the engine.

I have the vin. Is there a way to look everything up by vin or?

The Vin will tell you what the original stock model was, if the title is clean and possibly a Carfax.

The vin will tell me what engine was put in at the factory?

An 05 FLHTCU police special edition came with a 1450 (TC88) from the factory.

Since it will tell you the model as it came stock from the factory, yes.

If you stroke an 88" to 4.38" you get a 95". If you big bore that same motor from 3.75 to 4.00" you'll get 103" I am certain that he's mistaken (or you've got some kind of a custom build (I doubt that.))
