Default Question About 2017 M8 ECM

I have a 2017 Tri Glide. I am going to install a set of V&H Trike DeLuxe slip ons because I like the sound. Will the ECM adapt to the new pipes without installing a tuner/and or Stage 1 intake? Thank you for your responses.

With just the pipes you should be fine, no need to tune.

I would recumbent a power vision from fuel Moto. the stock HD tune is lean to comply with the eps.

a power vision on a 100% stock bike will improve the performance.

but, no, one is not needed for now.

The rule of thumb used to be that if all you were doing was putting on slip-ons without opening up the breather, you didn't need to flash the ECM or add a tuner. Interestingly, however, my buddy just got a 2017 RK Special and if you look at the H-D street cannons for that bike (which he did) it says that a tuner is required. I'm not sure why that is now the case, I just call that change to your attention. Those answering from experience with non M8 motors may not be aware of that change.

But that will give the MOCO grounds to void the warranty. I've read about a couple guys getting denied warranty because the ecm shows that it's had an aftermarket tuner attached. YMMV
