On3 - On my current bike I had my fairing lowers on when i changed the cams which amplified the click of the valves. I researched to find some questioned the ideal settings of the adjustable pushrods. I went back into mine and added a qtr turn to each pushrod, beyond the Harley spec but less than the forum jockey experts proposed sweetspot. For me on my application that quarter turn made a difference and have been riding without change since. Still noisier than stock, still has that 1800 RPM chatter zone, but I am used to it now and it is the new normal.
Has about 77k on the bottom end, 30k on S&S big bore kit, 18k on Fuel Moto heads and less than. 1k on S&S 570 cams, S&S lifters and Screaming Eagle cam plate/oil pump
Have the Cam chain tensioners been upgraded? My 03 Ultra's oil pressure went up about 12 PSI after the SE Cam Chain Tensioner and oil pump upgrade, at 30k miles. I have 42k now, and the engine hums.
2012 wide glide, when I did S&s hp 103 cams maybe a little more valve train noise, then I did head work with the big valves and a little more, it's harmonics comes at like 2400 rpm goes away comes back at 3 k silent, returnes at 34, but nothing like it is gonna blow up.i use spectro 25 60 in summer 20 50 winter . Synthetic makes it louder. I also have S&s premium lifters set at 4.5 turns I think that 27 flats been a while sence I did it but it was a couple flat more than in the directions. I also run the rock outs. Some tend to over analyze valve train noise. Don't let the evil sewing machine mess with your head! It's been 5k miles since I did heads and I hardly even notice it anymore!

Please post if you figure out your problem.
Just did cams, cam bearings, lifters, and put in the Screaming Eagle upgraded cam tensioners and oil pump less than 1000 miles ago.
