Default Carb versus EFI

Present bike is 01 FB EFI. Have had some problems such as fuel leak at quick connect, while on a road trip Was not a cheep repair, lost one full day[:@]. I'm thinking that all that can go wrong with a FI bike such as a fuel pump going out, holes in fuel lines in tank. Heven forbid the ECM goes on you.I'mthinking aboutgoing back to acarburated bike. Would like to hear some of your thoughts on this matter, pros and cons CARB 'V' EFI.

Id rather have a carbed bike than the EFI...

EFI easy starting tho..(big woop..easier than pulling out the choke while starting bike)

Ive got both, carb on my built 87 EVO and FI on my 05 Springer Classic and to tell you the truth the only difference Ive seen is that if itsbelow 60 deg. Ive got to use the choke on the EVO. for about the first two blocks. That and I get better mileage with the carb 50-55 mpg with the EVO and 43 mpgwith the Springer. I will say that the Springer does seen to run better when the temps in the 30's and 40's.

A brother of mine changed his 97 Ultra Classic over to Carb. He was fed up with being broke down in the middle of no were because a "Sensor" went out. He also couldn't keep up with another bro who has a 85 Ultra Classic. Now with a carb and V&H Pro pipe he can keep up.

I don't need a computer to any "tweakin'" if I need to adjust air/fuel mix...

I won't mourn the passing of the carburetor. No need for my hands to smell like gas for a week if I need to do any tuning. I spent $2500 to put EFI on my V8 S-10, worth every penny.

One of the reasons why I'm still sporting around on a 17 year old softail.
