I had my front tire mounted and balanced for $30 , I removed and replaced the front wheel myself in about an hour . Seems your guy was cheaper than HD but still a lot more than I think is fair.
Funny story about a tire change is my first harley tire change I took to the dealer and did not ask what it cost . I can truly say I was speechless when I paid the bill.
Front tire for my Heritage. 16" American Elite
Bring him the wheel. Tire, tube, rim strip.
Mounted bal. OTD w/tax & Calif disposal fee
$210
Oh!! HD dealer quoted me $395
$210 isn't too bad. I change my own tires and a tire, rim strip, and tube is going to run me maybe $180. Plus, you can service the wheel bearings and brakes yourself for the price of grease and $5 for a set of seals.
Of course the dealership is going to be higher...it's HD! For some, like myself, don't have the tools to change a tire and some dealerships will do if for "free" if you buy the tire there.
