Cool,
I could see how this could be made smaller.
3D printing could make these in a number of materials also

I’lll buy a set for the front and rear when available. The front stock crash bars are over $300 to replace and the saddle bag bars on my Road King are probably sold by the set, have no idea what they cost.

His website states the chrome is extra. A set unchromed would work just as well they just obviously wouldn’t look as nice. However, these bolt on and off for parking lot practice drills and for that I could care less about chrome for that purpose so mine won’t be chromed.

There are those who could care less about parking lot practice or slow speed maneuvers skills. If that were me I would get a chrome set, not only for the protection of an unexpected drop but because the replacement bars are ridiculously exspensive to replace. Honestly, I’ve seen plenty of rusty damaged crash bars, I don’t really care for that look. On a clean bike anyway.

He had a set that were not chromed and according to him was the 1st set he made in his garage. They had been welded and grinded and re-welded and re-grinded I don’t know how many times. Those were the ones he told me he uses for practice, instruction and competition purposes. I tried to buy those but he wouldn’t part with them.

I am not expecting these to be cheap. Nothing made in USA with American steel ever is but this guy is a one man show, works full time as a Houston motor instructor and teaches privately on the side so I know he’s busy. I can’t believe Harley doesn’t sell anything like this as it looks like a factory component. On the other hand, why would they when it would slow their replacement bar sales? All I know is I would love to be able ride like that with that much confidence. Hell I may see if he will throw in some personal instruction time, luckily he’s in Houston somewhere.

I only quoted you to emphasize the point, not attack your riding abilities. I have seen too many people in these demonstrations to know that I could never do what they/you are capable of. Now if I had a bike I did not worry so much about I might try to hone these skills but I have to pay for my bikes, accessories and repairs.

Now that I check out the product I can see it being a worthwhile investment. When I traded my last bike I was asked if it was ever dropped by the salesman. Well, dolt, of course it had been dropped. I never bought a bike to sit in a garage. Don't know what if any they knocked off the trade but this would help in that regard plus what they are selling it for, the intended purpose.
Thanks for the help, I appreciate that.

And as far as the product I bought last saturday, I used them all this week trying slow speed maneuvers on my street glide and of course dropped my bike lots of times. My bike wasn't damaged though, floorboards got a little scraped but they say thats the lean limit of the bike when you hear that. I did go to a rally today and other riders that saw them were very impressed with them too. I paid $350 for the set and honestly I would have paid $450 after using them this week as they have helped improve my skills and confidence. A buddy of mine is gonna call the guy Monday and order a set. Hopefully he has more in stock as Cbyway stated the guy was out when he saw him at the rally I bought mine at.

Thanks again for the help!!

Serious cone kickers use something like this. Around $15 each, one or two right at the bend of the engine guard. They'll hold up for dozens of sliding drops, and if they ever wear down far enough that they're ugly, cheap to replace.

Amazon Amazon

If you have black engine guard like I do, these are black oxide plated steel:

If you chew them up, just hit them with some satin black and you're good as new.

No thanks, paid to much for my Harley Street Glide to ride with that look, plus those wouldn't last I had a buddy buy those, right before I bought my Street Glide 2 months ago....Stick with what I got...Im really happy with these cause we just repaired them tonite and it was easy and quick just like the guy said. Im ready for some more practice tomorrow...Chrome is off but I will have them re-chromed in a few months after I get some slow speed maneuvering down. And Im gonna keep these things on my bike all the time, they look really good and I got a lot of compliments and likes today at the rally i went to. By the way I found the guy for those interested, the guy that makes them is in Houston. I will post a link to the guys site when I figure out how you did that.
