I've never liked the lack of feel I get with gloves, so I've used them only for weather. I recently picked up a pair of Fox Creek DeerTours gloves from the classifieds here, and it's the first pair I've had that give me a great feel for the controls, even with the liners I've had for a while. I'll probably use them for cool weather, where I used to just let my hands get cold.

My grips are a hard plastic that are knurled and after awhile, it makes my hands sore, so I wear a light glove to soften it. Short rides, I don't bother with them.
I use gloves always. I recently picked up Speed & Strength Rust and Redemption leather gloves. So far I am liking them. I did have a pair of Contech lightweight textile/leather gloves, but when it came time to replace them I could not find the same model so I gave the S&S a try.
I dont like riding without gloves. Maybe it comes from all my dirt bike years of riding but I wont riding anything without gloves. I wear RSD barfly gloves normally. Just bought some thinsulate lined deerskin gauntlets this past weekend. I only got them because my normal gloves dont offer much protection when it gets chilly out. I can say that I dont like the feel of the lined gloves at all. Too thick. My grip felt weird. As soon as I could take them off I did. Maybe with more cold rides Ill get used to them. I have a light pair of Setwear that I plan to wear during summer months.
I only wear gloves if cold, fingerless under 65 degrees or if it's pouring, full fingered gloves under 55. Most of the time not at all because there aren't many days too cold.
I always wear gloves when I ride, regardless of season. Bugs, rocks, cigarettes, etc. are painful when they hit.
Cold weather riding can be painful even with gloves. I keep a pair of heavy winter gloves in my saddlebag at all times, and heated gloves are awesome in the winter.
