I never ride without gloves and good ones at that.
When I was a kid, I tore the skin off both of my palms in a steep downhill bicycle crash on asphalt. I never want to relive that pain again.
Alright it was chilly here today and I went for a ride. The first leg I rode without gloves. My hands had a good frozen feel. So on the ride back I wore my gloves.
Now I've never put much thought into it, but I did not like the way the bars felt. It's almost like no feeling of the bike. The feel of the road isn't the same.
Am I the only one who n has this sensation? Or anyone else notice this?

Ever considered your spoiling situation? Here in western Europe we have hardly any weather to ride without gloves. Besides, we wear gloves not only against the cold but also against the road rash when we are forced to kiss the road surface by actions of some idiot behind a steering wheel. Ever seen fully defleshed fingers? I did once with a guy and this guy can never treat his wife again as you know what I mean..

I feel the same way. I like the tactical sensation of every vibration, etc. I feel better connected with the bike. I have a pair of light gloves and a pair of heavy gloves but only wear them when my hands get so cold it's uncomfortable.
I wear gloves on motorcycles, bicycles, and when I can while working on the job or at home. I'm a slow learner, it took many minor cuts, scrapes and bruises to learn how important good gloves are.
Since I have the room on the Glide I keep perforated, full gauntlet and water proof HD gloves on it at all times. For cooler weather and my arthritic hands I also keep light weight thermal glove liners which work with all my gloves if the temps start getting cooler.
Always have them on . Learned my lesson in 1971, gravel hurts. Mechanics gloves provide great feel and dexterity, what I usually wear till it gets cold, then thinsulate lined.
