Fred, You are one lucky dog! Great Pics BTW. Is photography your profession? Just wondering. Those KOA cabins are pretty nice, I might have to try that sometime. Enjoy your trip.

I wouldn't call Photograpny my profession as I worked in and retired from Law Enforcement. But I've made money doing photography and more than that it's in my blood. Packed about 10K worth of gear with me. I couldn't edit the pics that I put up I'll have to do that when I get back. Didn't take near as many pictures as I would have liked. Future trips I need to allot more time to places of interest.

After 8 days and 2000 miles I arrived in NY. It has been a great ride so far with perfect weather and conditions.
Tomorrow I put moms ashesin the Cemetary and then on to upstate NY. Pics http://www.floridafred.com/
Well we had a nice ceremony at the Cemetary for mom. I spent a couple days around Hawthorne, NY visiting with friends and relatives and then headed upstate to visit a cousin. I had about 145 miles to travel on a beautiful hot day. It was a nice ride but get this....
I tried to get onto the NYS Thruway but the entrance ramp was blocked by police cars and flashing red lights. I traversed some back roads to another entrance ramp and that was blocked also. So I did the back road thing again to the Taconic state Parkway and headed North. The taconic is a nice road to ride 55MPH lots of twisties but the pavement is a little bumpy. Finally got onto the Thruwaya little further north then I90. OK, here it comes again. The exit I'm to get off of I90 is blocked. The next exit is 10 miles so I have to go the ten miles get back on I90 in the opposite direction and then get off where I had been blocked on the other side. Had to do 20 miles out of my way. It was still a great ride. I'll post pics on my site later. Right now just kickin back enjoying the day
Had to check back,
Glad you made it its got to feel good Enjoy
Thanks. It's been one great ride. Today was the first time I had to ride in rain out ofalmost 3weeks on the road but only for about 50 miles. I actually enjoyed it. When I hit the Ohio border the sun came out. I visited several friend throughout NY State and now I'm on my way to Port Clinton on Lake Erie to visit with an old buddie from the Navy. Tonight I'm staying in a KOA outside Cleveland. I did 350 miles today and tomorrow I only have to do about 150 to my destination. I'll spend the weekend and then head south to Memphis and my appointment with Elvis. Couple pics on my site. I have hundreds of pictures by little time to post them. Couple days ago While staying in Ilion, NY it got into the 40's at night. My Road Glide was in my friends garage for 2 days and when I tried to start it the battery was all but dead. We jumped it and it's been ok but I'll have it checked when I get my 10K service in Memphis. There is nothing like the open road. Ride safe.

Just a quick note for anyone interested or keeping score.. 3000 miles 11 states and still going strong. Stopped tonight in Clarksville In. Tomorrow a 400 mile ride to Memphis. Bike will get a 10K service at Southern Thunder HD in Horn Lake, Ms. and I will get a cold beer on Beale Street in Memphis, Tn. On Tuesday I'm scheduled to see Elvis. What a ride!
