Default Worst nightmare

I've used this forum to research any and all questions I've had regarding my 06 RG, prior to purchase to present. I plan to continue asthe info received has helped me put 59000 miles on with very few problems. Thanks!

One thing that has troubled me while researching the forum is the ratio of actual problems to expected problems. Leading me to ask, What is your worst Harley nightmare? What I'm getting at is; regardless of the subject, oil, extended service plans, shocks, lowering kits, exhaust, tuner, etc, most threads in this forum will contain a post stating "don't do that or warranty won't cover, performance will suffer, longevity will suffer, etc". What ill concocted changes are going wrong? I want real personal experiences, your experiences that have happened to your Harley, not your brother's, sister's, mom's, dad's, uncle's, cousin's, aunt's, uncle's, bff's,etc's.

Start your reply with something like-
My Harley was denied warranty coverage because...
My Harley blew up because...
My Harley broke because...

Thanks in advance for your story.

My worst Harley nightmare was a broken shifter linkage and a broken fairing bracket. They didn't warranty the fairing bracket because I welded it back together myself.

I was speaking with someone from the Tucson Harley service department and was told that things like exhaust, chrome, intakes etc wont void a warranty, but if someone does their own engine/trans work (aside from fluid changes/maintenance), and changes done to the ECM that isnt installed by the dealership , or there is obvious signs of abuse then warranty wont cover it.

My worst Harley nightmare came true.

The bitch was able to claim it was "marital property" in the divorce case and it was sold *at auction*.

Riding my new Roadie now...even nightmares end.

My worst nightmare...waking up and no Harley in the garage. It was all a dream.

Thanks. Now I can go back to sleep. Life's given you enough to worry about. Why create more situations that haven't happened?

I'd worry that Iwouldn't have enough time to post if I rode my bike 59,000 miles in a year! WOW, that is some serious riding. Hats off to you.
