May not be a comp. Looks like the vibration damper we ran on our old chevy inline six, it kept things from falling off the motor when spinning at 6500 on the drag strip.

That's exactly what that looks like. I had one once, but can't remember any details or the company that built it.

I was thinkin' that too. I've been a drag racer for a long time, and I've seen a lot of those. Popular brands are Fisher, ATI. FluidDamper.
I think some serious machine work would be needed to make one fit. I think it's do-able. In fact, it's some I would try if I could get a damper (free) that I wouldn't feel bad about cutting up.

Google says it is a "Fisher" made for the 91-93 Softail. Good times!
Cool, thanks guys. Not sure I'll need it with my Darkhorse balanced crank and rubber mounted engine but it came off the bike and I don't have the original compensator so it's going back on.
Maybe I'll remove it for an OEM compensator on the outside chance I ever buy an Evo Softail.
