Default Help Please, in Daytona with no brake light?

Hey guys, I could use some help please.
I am in Daytona and my brake light quit working. I have traced the problem to the rear brake light switch. The problem is I don't have my service manual and don't know the procedure to replace the switch?
When I remove the switch will I loose brake fluid?
Assuming I will loose fluid I would expect to have to bleed the brake and add fluid? Is this correct?
Can anyone give the correct procedure to get this done?
Thanks for any help.
Bike is 07 Heritage (see sig)

If the brake light still comes on with the hand caliper, why not make sure you use that until you get home, and have better conditions to repair it!

I am going to be in Daytona for another three weeks and need to get it fixed ASAP.
I am not comfortable with having to remember to use the hand brake every time.

Two wires...doesn't matter where they go, so you can't mix them up...lefty loosey , righty tighty...I have replaced them before without bleeding...have the new one ready, and don't waste anytime installing it and you will only loose a couple of drops...worse case rear brake will be a little spongy till you get a chance to bleed...5 minutes in a dealer parking lot.

Let not your heart be troubled. Ride that sum beach into the nearest HD dealership. Take the gas cap off, walk in holding the cap in the air and tell the first salesman you need a new bike that will fit this cap.

You can afford three weeks in Daytona, but can not afford to take your bike to the dealer so you don't get rear-ended? And you can't remember to use the front brake, you don,t use it every time you stop? I'm CONFUSED !

Good luck, I hope you figure it out. I was just trying to set you up with an extra gas cap for the ride home!

Do what Tom84FXST says and be sure to leave the cap on the reservoir while changing the switch. Done stuff like this a good many times over the years

Actually it will be six weeks in Fl. Four in Daytona and two by Palmetto, on the the West Coast. Not that my financial situation is any of your concern, I am doing it on the cheap, in my travel trailer, on a friend's property.
It's not that I can't afford the dealer repair, I just want to do as much of the wrenching on my bike as possible.
