I have a dead battery how long does it take for a HD tri kle charger to top of a battery The bike is a 2017 ultra I've been riding since 1975 in northern Ohio with everything from a sportster to road king to ultra. And never had a battery take a dump over the winter even with stRying when the temps got to the upper 40 what the hell happened bad bat or what?
Obviously it wasn't on a tender? It may charge it enough to start the bike pretty quickly. The bike is under warranty. Call the dealer, they may come get it and for sure will replace the batter.
The security , ECM, speedometer, and other items all have small processors that stay on drawing very small amounts of current.
You really should make sure your connections are tight at battery. Charge it a good 24 hours and keep it on there ever chance you get for a week to hopefully desulfate it. Dragging these small batteries all the way down shortens their lives dramaticly. If it seems weak after a week and you use the bike for more then a hobby where if it does not start and this would be a real problem, I would get a new battery.
My older bike actually draws more then new bike and sees to be OK for about 2 months. Iffy then. Three months is usually a no start plus you are putting all that starting and charging load on your bike.
If driven weekly, all is good but any longer, use a under 1 amp quality maintenance charger.
Don't leave it on all the time. You can let the battery get too worn out and the last start will be when you take it off the charger and a no start when you head home.
Good life is about 4-5 years

Parasitic drain from the security system, etc... could drain the battery during a few months of non use. Keep the battery on a tender to keep this from happening. Not a trickle charger, but a battery tender/monitor. I keep my bike hooked up to one all winter, battery stays charged. Not sure this is a warranty issue. Or if the battery even needs to be replaced.
Geez, man sorry I offended you. I have a fresh pot here, I would gladly pour you a cup if I could. Have a nice day.
Before you jump down dresserdude's throat, how about you do what he, dynamick, and others have done? Check out OP'S profile and posts.
After you do, you will realize that he' a troll stirring up crap just to stir up crap. If you feel the need to participate in his nonsense, well...fine.
