Default Different color exhaust tips

Has anyone noticed if both of the exhaust pipes run the same color? I have noticed that my front cylinder the pipe is black, while the rear is tan. I guess I noticed this because my tips are angled and are longer on the bottom than the top. I am running true duals, no converter, with 4.5 magna flow slip ons. The motor has 11 to 1 pistons, 259e cams and has been Dyno tuned. I just feel like the front cylinder is running rich and maybe the tune is not right. Now it runs strong, to the point with my girlfriend on the back it will tote the front tire in 2nd gear, and this is a ultra classic, which is a heavy bike. But if you just ease out on the clutch from a start in 1st gear it will spit and stomble until you slip the clutch and get the rpms up over 2000. This makes me think the tune is not right, that with the exhaust color. I would like thoughts, am I thinking right?

Read your spark plugs. Check both of them the coloring should be the same.

Because a stock system doesn't flow the same side to side, exhaust color doesn' mean much. Reading the plugs...done the proper way...is mo' bettah!

Thanks guys, I knew I was forgetting something. As many times as I read plugs and changed Jets and power values racing cars, you would think I would remember that.

If it "spits and stumbles" below any RPM, then the air/fuel ratio needs work. Or the spark curve needs work. Or both.
Did you have it tuned for WFO? Or tuned for partial throttle settings?

I can't answer that question. After the build the dealer told me to put 400+ miles on it and bring it back for a dyno tune, which I did. But I don't have a lot of confidence in what was done as far as the tune.

Well, if it was the dealer, you probably got a tune according to the Gospel of Harley...which means it ain't all it could be...So you're probably on top of things in terms of your confidence level, Wam...

And most "plug reading charts" are from the days of leaded gas...and are totally worthless with this crap they sell as gas nowadays.

And after that, remind that the front cylinder runs in general cooler than the rear one
